I dreamed of visiting Venice long ago. The city attracted me with its history, old buildings, endless intertwined canals and labyrinths of streets. It's noisy and crowded in the daytime, quiet in the evenings and uninhabited early in the mornings. One of my favourite places in the city is St. Mark's Square. I enjoyed it almost every day at any time. I delighted sunrises and blue twilights. I took pleasure in watching the pink lantern light at dawn, breathing the sea mist and listening to the wind of silence.

It is one of the classical views of the City-theater. After the performance, the blue velvet curtain has come down and the ramps are illuminating the way to the last spectators, who are hurrying along the waterway into the cosy tiny rooms, where odour of violets mixes with the smell of spicy cheese and spilled wine – to sleep until the next act of the play.

We enjoyed many mornings here in Reine, watching the lights of the awaking city. The last morning the water mirror became absolutely smooth for a few minutes and we succeed to observe the beauty of this place.
